Can We Talk? The UMC & The H-word
Join us Sundays in the Green Room (S100) on the first floor of the Sanctuary, for a class entitled ‘Can We Talk? The United Methodist Church and the H-word’. We will discuss:
* What does the Bible say about homosexuality?
* What is the United Methodist Church’s stand on homosexuality?
* What do you believe?
If you answered ‘I don’t know’ to any/all of the above, we hope you will join us for seven weeks of study and conversation as we sort through the biblical references to homosexuality, discuss the UMC position that ‘homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching’, and examine what it means to be a reconciling congregation. Using the curriculum Claiming The Promise as a springboard for dialogue, Michael Coughlan, Sally Furgeson, Bruce Kellison (and special guests) will lead the class.
