Dr. Jolene Webster will speak to adult Sunday School classes on Sun. Oct. 29 in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to attend! Dr. Webster will focus on the history of Martin Luther and the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. On Oct. 31, 1517, Luther, a Catholic monk, nailed his 95 Theses to the Schlosskirche in Wittenberg, Germany, denouncing indulgences for the forgiveness of sin and claiming that grace comes through faith and word. His bold act resulted in the spread of the Protestant Reformation across Europe. Jolene is a graduate of Capital University Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, and is a Rostered and Commissioned Minister of Word and Service in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She is serves at UUMC as Director of Music Ministries. She is currently directing chorus and soloists for Reformation: The Musical involving several area churches. Performances are Oct. 20, 21, 22 at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church, Austin.
