The first in a series of visits to the Blanton Museum, we will gather at the church at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 28 to explore the theme of “Sacred Resistance,” in line with our Lenten series of sermons and concerns about the direction of our denomination. We will consider the story of Esther as depicted in a 16th century Italian painting, an Argentinian artist’s challenge to Church censorship, and discover works of art that remind us of our own intentions for participating in a community of action.
This group will be limited to about fifteen adult participants. Museum admission will be free. Parking tickets from the nearby Brazos Garage can be validated at the Blanton admissions desk for $4. All are welcome to enjoy lunch together at the Blanton Café after the gallery visit.
