This Summer we will be having the Our Whole Lives class for 7th-9th grade youth on August 9th-11th.
If you are unfamiliar with this class, here is a quick bit of information from their website:
"Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and has the potential to save lives. For these reasons and more, we are proud to offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula for use in both secular settings and faith communities. Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. With a holistic approach, Our Whole Lives provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality."
We will start OWL with two 8-9 hour days of class on August 9th and 10th, and then finish on August 11th with only a half day. The cost this year will be $100, and this will cover classroom supplies, meals during the class, and fun activities.
If you'd like to sign your youth up for this class, go ahead and click here.
We are looking to fill only 15 spots to be most effective, so please sign up as soon as you can! If your youth has a friend they'd like to bring, feel free to sign them up as well! This is a community-wide class for any and all who would like to participate.
Reach out to Sydney if you have any questions or thoughts. She’d love to help in any way possible!
We look forward to what an effective, important class this will be in shaping our youth's lives.
