Children’s
Ministry

Here at UUMC we aim to create a loving, safe, welcoming environment for all children to grow in their faith through sacred stories, music, engagement and play.  Our team is committed to nurturing and celebrating children of all ages’ spiritual growth and exploration.

Learn

Sunday School

This Montessori-based Sunday school program for children 2 years old through 5th grade is held on the 3rd floor of the Education Building from 9:45-10:45 am. Each week the children hear a sacred story, have a time of response, and enjoy a light snack with one another.

Godly Play is based upon the idea that children have an innate sense of the presence of God, all they lack is the appropriate language to help them identify and express it so it can be explored and strengthened. Godly Play approach teaches classical Christian language in a way that enhances the child's authentic experience of God so it can contribute to the creative life of the child and the world.

Worship

Children Welcome

Scripture teaches us again and again that Jesus welcomed the children.  We do the same. That means that we welcome giggles, cries, and wiggly bodies in our sanctuary.  If your child does need a place to stretch their legs or you are a nursing momma who needs a rocking chair, please feel free to visit our Children’s Haven located in the north side of the sanctuary.  It is stocked with toys, a changing table and extra supplies.

We also offer childcare every Sunday in the Education building located across the breezeway from the sanctuary.  Our Safe Gatherings and CPR/First Aid certified childcare staff would love to hang out and care for your little one while you enjoy the service.

Play

Creating Memories

We love to take time and have fun as a way to build faith and fellowship within our community.

From Parent’s Nights Out to Tween Time for 4th and 5th graders, we offer plenty of opportunities for our kids to gather. We spend time focusing on many different educational aspects from service projects to STEM activities, we aim to support well-rounded children.

UUMC also has many annual traditions that our families look forward to every year: Fall, Easter and Advent Festivals, Vacation Church Camp, Back to School Kick-Off, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinners, Lock-ins and more!

We would love for you and your family to come and create memories with us.

We also care for our parents!

We have Sunday school classes designed for parents, and Mom’s/Dad’s night out to help create a community of parents in our church!
