Children’s
Ministry
We want all of our kiddos to feel like they belong at UUMC.
We want to create a loving, welcoming, inclusive environment for all children to grow in their faith and community. We celebrate all kinds of learning through play, music and storytelling. We believe in teaching our kids how to be in community, so we are committed to providing time and space where kids can have fun, serve, and learn with each other.
Across all our age groups, we have an extensive list of events everyone can participate in including: Parent’s Night Out, Festivals, Vacation Church Camp, OWL comprehensive sex ed, and lots more.
Little Ones
Infant - PreSchool
We focus on supporting the whole family with potlucks, park meet ups, and more. Babies 6 months old and older can be in childcare during the church service. There is also a children’s haven right off the Sanctuary to nurse, change and play with your babies and toddlers while still hearing the service. Once your child is 2 years old, they are welcome to join the Little Ones Sunday School class on the third floor for age appropriate play and learning.
Juniors
Kinder - 3rd Grade
Our Juniors have their own rotating events such as Junior time, day camps, summer camps, and their own Sunday School class using the Godly Play Montessori method, which honors the competency AND play that children are so great at. This is a great age to start learning community skills and it sets them up for enjoying church time with friends in later years.
Tweens
4th & 5th Grade
Our tweens gather for tween time, Level Up camp, lock-ins, and their own Sunday School class that uses a rotating curriculum to keep them engaged with bible stories and connecting them to their own lives. We focus on bonding by serving together, celebrating birthdays, and supporting each other’s extracurricular events.
We are a parent-powered program!
We can’t run all of these amazing activities without support from our parents. Please consider how you can help us maintain and grow our wonderful community.
