This year marks the 70th Anniversary of ordination for women in the Methodist tradition. Annual Conferences and local congregations throughout the connection have been acknowledging this milestone this and here at University UMC we will celebrate this anniversary on August 9. The worship service will use liturgical resources from the Commission on the Status and Role of Women for The UMC and Pastor Teresa will be sharing about her call to ministry in the sermon. As well, we will express thanksgiving for the many women who have been appointed to UUMC in years past as well as give thanks for retired clergywomen and clergywomen appointed to extension ministry worshiping at UUMC.
