Church-Wide Spring Picnic

Eastwoods Park

Join your UUMC community at Eastwoods Park for food, yard games and fellowship.

This is a gathering where all are welcome to come and enjoy the (hopefully) beautiful spring weather. We will provide sandwich fixings and games but please bring a bag of chips, drinks and dessert!

*If it happens to be raining on Sunday, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall and still have corn hole, food, board games and fun!

Intergenerational Sunday School

Begins May 5 | 9:45 - 10:45 am

Chapel

EVERYONE is welcome to join Ray Williams and Melissa Wiginton in the chapel every Sunday May 5-June 2nd. This brilliant pair will coach you through telling wonderful, descriptive and engaging Bible stories. This is a safe place to learn new skills and make a new intergenerational friend. We’re thrilled that Ray and Melissa are up for teaching this class again and we look forward to seeing all of you there.

Bach Cantata

Join us to celebrate the Ascension of Jesus with Bach's "Lobet Gott in seinen Reichen" (BWV11)! Our Sanctuary Choir, accompanied by Dr. EunJoo Fierro on the organ, will bring you a multi-movement work. We’ll spotlight our talented UUMC Section Leaders: Cami Everitt, Soprano; Annisha Mackenzie, Mezzo-Soprano; Andres Ojeda, Tenor; and George Sani, Bass. The choir is excited to bring you this extended musical meditation on the rising and ascension of our savior.

Worship | Sunday @ 11 am

Join us for worship as we continue the sermon series “Creation Care and Climate Justice.” This week's sermon will center on the theme of climate migration. We will hear the account of disciples on the road to Emmaus from Luke’s Gospel and consider what it means to recognize and welcome those God sends our way. The choir will sing “Poor Wayfaring Stranger.” The in person service begins at 11 am in the sanctuary and our pre-recorded YouTube service premieres at 11 am.

All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he himself will say: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matt 25:35).

Flower Ministry

Each week our amazing Flower Ministry team takes the altar flowers and arranges them into beautiful vases. They then deliver them to some of the members of our congregation.

If you are interested in joining the Flower Ministry team and can assist with arranging flowers or delivering, please contact Pastor Teresa.

The Flower Ministry team is also in need of vases. If you have received an arrangement, please return the vase the next time you are at church or contact the church and we can arrange to pick it up. Or, if you have vases to donate please bring them to the church office during business hours. The best for small bouquet arrangements are smaller vases, 12" - 16" with a narrow opening.

If you’d like to donate altar flowers in memory or honor of a loved one or special event, please contact Renee.

Please protect yourself from scammers that pretend to be a Pastor or staff member via text/email. We will never ask for an urgent favor, or the purchase of gift cards. Please delete these messages without responding.

To avoid falling for a potential scam:

Double check the sender.
Verify the collection is valid - is it something we've talked about during service on Sunday? Is it on the website? Sent in the Econnection?
Check for grammar and spelling mistakes.
Trust your gut. If something feels wrong, it probably is.

If there is every any doubt about the authenticity of a request, don't hesitate to call us and we can let you know.

General Conference

The postponed 2020 General Conference will be held April 23-May 3, 2024 at Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
