and the Philippines." One emphasis of the initiative is to “love boldly”—part of the United Methodist Church’s vision for the formation of disciples.
The following Scriptures provide guidance for how we can learn to love boldly:
John 13:34–35, in which Jesus says “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Leviticus 19:9–18 tells of love expressed through justice, compassion, and neighborly care.
Mark 12:28–34 identifies love of God and neighbor as the heart of faithful living.
This week’s video is from Rev. Caleb S. G. Dormah, who ministers to people who live in a graveyard in Liberia. Rev. Dormah is the Lead Pastor of Metro Harvest (The Church Without Walls) – Liberia. Metro Harvest is a family of God’s children who regularly hold worship sessions in various ghettos and street corners, ministering to disenfranchised and uprooted women, youth, and children.
Thank you for being part of this global movement of faith. May God continue to shape us into people who love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously. Please continue to look for more information on this initiative in the next two weeks.
