“We Are Becoming …”
Stewardship campaign sets
goal for a growing UUMC
Look around UUMC on any given day, and see what we’re becoming.
The pews on Sunday mornings are becoming more filled with energy and longing for connection. Tuesday night classrooms are becoming laboratories of learning. Wednesdays are becoming welcoming times for choirs and college students. Saturday mornings are becoming home to those who need a hand. Small groups and mission work fill the calendar.
We are becoming …
Well, you can fill in the rest. What comes next is up to all of us.
During our stewardship campaign this month, the UUMC Finance Committee invites you to consider what we are becoming — and how your gifts can help us become so much more. We’ve set a stewardship goal of $875,000 in commitments for 2027, which would be an increase of about 7% from our current-year pledged giving of $816,929 from 156 individuals and families. Reaching this goal will allow us to meet the demands of a growing congregation with dreams to become even more welcoming, helping, uplifting, transforming, engaging …
There are those ellipses again — and they’re just waiting for you to complete the sentence. Your financial commitment will help us to continue to grow our ministries for children, youth and college students. It will help us to serve others and be a voice for justice. And, it will help us maintain our aging buildings.
Commitments made via pledge cards this month are critically important to our ability to prepare a budget and plan our spending for next year. Put simply, we will not plan to spend money that we don’t have, so a shortfall in financial commitments will result in cuts to beloved programs or missions.
If you’ve never turned in a pledge card, please consider deepening your spiritual practices of generosity, stewardship and commitment this fall. If you already pledge your financial commitment, we thank you, and we ask you to prayerfully consider renewing and increasing your gift for 2027.
We believe that, together, we can meet our $875,000 goal and dream big for all that UUMC can become.
Our campaign culminates Oct. 25 with Commitment to Giving Sunday and the Fall Festival. You may turn in a pledge card then — or anytime before — through the Sunday offering plate or the church office. You can also communicate your plans to finance director Cindy Reeves at finance@uumc.org.
