This Sunday we conclude our sermon series on the parables of Jesus with the familiar story of The Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37. It is a communion Sunday and we will be singing The Resurrection Chorus in honor of beloved church member Janice Jones who recently passed away. The Sanctuary Choir’s anthem is “Down By the Riverside”, a Traditional Spiritual, arr. by Rosephanye Powell. On this Labor Day Weekend, worship will also include a Litany for all who labor.
As November’s election quickly approaches our UUMC Votes ministry will once again be on the corner of 24th and Guadalupe helping get folks registered and making their plans. Civic Academy on Data Centers
The UUMC Central Texas Interfaith Core Team in partnership with All Saints Episcopal Church is presenting a Civic Academy on Data Centers, Sunday September 6, after worship in the Fellowship Hall. A presentation on Data Centers will be followed by small group discussions. Together we hope to identify faithful responses to this very important and timely subject. A light lunch will be provided. Justice For Our Neighbors Homecoming Gala
The annual Austin Region Justice For Our Neighbors (ARJFON) fundraiser and gala is Sunday, September 27 at 5pm. ARJFON is a non-profit law office, that welcomes refugees and immigrants into our communities by providing free, high-quality immigration legal services, education, and advocacy. UUMC and many of its members have a strong tradition of supporting JFON. Learn more and purchase tickets on their website.
