Finding God in the Faith of Others: Islam

We continue our sermon series on “Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others” and Pastor Teresa’s sermon will take a look at Islam and the gift of diversity. The scripture reading is Nan Merrill’s translation of Psalm 107 (selected verses) and can be found below.

“The only way you have a potluck is if people contribute,” he said recently. “And a potluck is boring if everybody brings the same thing….Everyone gets a seat at the table—but we have to work together.”

Eboo Patel,
executive director of the Interfaith Youth Core

Know yourself! Let your aim be to recognize who you are. Aspire to lie as sons and daughters of Divine Love, to enshrine the earth with divinity, To honor all relationships as sacred, and to live in peace and in balance with all living things.

Acknowledge the sacredness of every path, albeit different from your own; In this way you honor the Great Mystery and the wonder of all life!

Remember always to offer grateful hearts in thanksgiving to the One who lives among us!
