The Kinship of Love

Join us for worship this Sunday as we continue celebrating Pride Month! The Queer Council will share another wonderful weekly “Pride Fact” as we lift up our queer congregants, reaffirm our commitment to being a safe place for all, and continue learning together as allies. We will also welcome guest preacher Rev. Dave Dinneen, who will reflect on the “Kinship of Love” through Romans 6:3–4 and Matthew 10:34–39.

The Kinship of Love
Rev. Dr. Dave Dinneen

The arrival of the Kingdom of God, on earth as it is in heaven, or what I refer to as the Kinship of Love, requires our participation. The Holy Spirit stirs in us to both comfort and conflict us so that we may learn to walk in newness of life. The conflicting Spirit may be experienced as a division within us, a lack of inner peace about someone or something. Reconciling our inner divisions empowers us to love deeper. The Kinship of God/Love arrives through the love expressed in our relationships with all people and with all of creation. How is the Holy Spirit prompting you to walk in newness of life? What lesson is the Spirit trying to teach via an inner conflict?

Rev. Dr. Dave Dinneen
