Dear friends and members of University UMC:
As we look to Monday, when many offices and schools will be closed, we also remember Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The United Methodist Church observes Indigenous Peoples' Day as an alternative to Columbus Day, affirming the sacredness of Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian peoples and repudiating the Doctrine of Discovery.
