This coming Sunday we celebrate World Communion Sunday. It is time to remember not only our connection with Christians around the world, it is also an invitation to reflect on the vastness of God’s world and our place in it. May it also be an invitation to fall in love with the beauty of this world and every living thing upon it (including those swimming in the depths of the sea and flying above it!). In an interview years ago with journalist Anna Russell, Goodall said “I care about the future, I care about animals, I care about trees, I care about children. And I’m obstinate and I won’t give in.” May we care more deeply and honor our place in creation with humility. And no matter what, may we never run out of hope.
What a joy to be your pastor!
