Worship Sunday @ 11 amScripture: Jeremiah 7:5-7; Matthew 25:31-46
Join us for worship as we welcome guest preacher Rev. Jim Harrington. His sermon “It’s Your Turn” is a call to action and the Old Testament lesson comes to us from the Prophet Jeremiah 7:5-7. Rev. Harrington is a Texas civil rights icon who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice.
It’s also a Family Sunday and children of all ages (that includes adults!) are invited to dress in a way that celebrates the hobbies, clubs and scouting organizations they are a part of as a way of remembering we bring the whole of our lives to church. It might be your cub scout uniform or ballerina costume or baker’s apron. Let’s all join in the fun!
After worship, all are welcome to stay for the Lunch and Learn with Rev. Harrington in the Fellowship Hall. Harrington will share stories from his recently published book, “The Texas Civil Rights Project: How We Built a Social Justice Movement,” reflecting on his lifelong fight for equality—from advocating for farmworkers alongside César Chávez to securing major reforms for people with disabilities—and his work to build a movement for social justice. |

In response to recent events, we’ve received several requests to add websites, events, and opportunities to the Econnection and others asking how to help. The Río Texas Conference has put together a resource hub with lots of good information. We also always recommend Austin Region Justice for Our Neighbors, to whom UUMC has been a long time supporter. Their website has a variety of ways to give or get involved. Fig Leaf Needs
Fig Leaf continues to operate weekly, providing our neighbors with clothing and other needed items relying primarily on donations from the community. The current highest areas of need include: Men’s Jeans, Long Sleeved T-shirts, Hoodies & Jackets, tennis shoes & boots, and sweatpants. Donations can be dropped off at the church Monday - Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm or Sundays from 10 am - 12 pm. |

Our Community Life Team is hard at work helping people make UUMC connections outside of Sunday Worship. On Monday, a group of people gathered for a Mahjong lesson, with the hopes of creating a club that can meet and play together regularly! |
