Worship Sunday @ 11 amScripture: Jeremiah 7:5-7; Matthew 25:31-46
This Sunday we are excited to welcome a few of our campus ministry students who will lead us in worship. Pastor Teresa’s sermon is “A View from the Mountaintop” and the scripture lesson is the traditional reading for Transfiguration Sunday from Matthew 17:1-9. The Sanctuary Choir’s anthem is “Climbing Up the Mountain” by Patsy Ford Simms. Children’s Director Jillian Moore will have a special gift for the children during children’s sermon to help them and their families observe the upcoming season of Lent.
“Transfiguration Sunday is a hinge for us. With this week, we move from Epiphany into Lent—going literally from the mountaintop into the desert. The mountaintop is much more comfortable and the pull to stay there is incredible. But the desert is where Christ leads us. Christ leads us there because that’s where so many of our sisters and brothers whom he loves live. Christ leads us there because our common destiny is as partners in this mission of God.
Reminder: The Austin Marathon will impact your travel to church. Visit our website to check your routes and be sure to allow for extra travel time. |

“Christ leads us down the mountain and into the desert, because the true transfiguration, the true shining forth of God in all God’s glory happens when we follow him there together.” ― Reverend Michael D. Kinman |

Immigration & Rights Resources
In response to recent events, we’ve received several requests to add websites, events, and opportunities to the Econnection and others asking how to help. The Río Texas Conference has put together a resource hub with lots of good information. We also always recommend Austin Region Justice for Our Neighbors, to whom UUMC has been a long time supporter. Their website has a variety of ways to give or get involved. You can also check out the From Our Neighbors and Volunteer Opportunities sections of the Econnection for more specific opportunities we have to share. |

Land and Legacy Update
The recorded presentation from Christopher Kennedy is now available for you to watch on our YouTube channel. It provides helpful context ahead of our next meeting so we encourage you to watch as you are able. Our next church-wide Land and Legacy meeting will be February 22 to talk about next steps in our discernment process around our property. |
