| Church-Wide VoteReproductive Freedom CongregationThis Sunday | 12 pm | Sanctuary
After worship, there will be a brief meeting in the Sanctuary to vote on whether UUMC should become a Reproductive Freedom Congregation. This is a simple “yes” or “no” ballot and all church members are eligible to vote. Under a program of the Texas Freedom Network (TFN), participating congregations affirm the following three key principles: We trust and respect women and people who can become pregnant.
We promise that people who attend our congregation will be free from stigma, shame, or judgment for their reproductive decisions, including abortion.
We believe access to comprehensive and affordable reproductive health services, including abortion, is a moral and social good

| Service of Worship Sunday @ 11 amScripture: John 14:1-6This Sunday we conclude the sermon series on world religions and the scripture passage is John 14:1-6. In Pastor Teresa’s sermon she will share about some of her encounters with Hinduism and there will be responsive reading that includes readings from Psalm 105 and from The Bhagavad Gita. The special music is a song entitled “What Happens When a Woman Takes Power” by Alexandra Olsavsky, performed by the Treble Choir. Following worship all are welcome to remain in the sanctuary as the church votes on whether to become a Reproductive Freedom Congregation. All members of UUMC are able to vote and you can find more information above. |

Train to Assist in the Texas FloodsEmergency Response Team Basic Training
Early Response Team members are trained to be a helping hand in the aftermath of a disaster. All members of an Early Response Team are required to complete the eight-hour training course.
Pastor Teresa is in communication with our conference's Emergency Response Team to see about a training opportunity here at University UMC in the near future. If you are interested in this training, email Renee Moreno at renee@uumc.org
Everything we hear regarding recovery efforts is that this is a marathon and not a sprint. There will be a need months and even years from now. A training in the near future would position us well to join other volunteers in being deployed to meet the need. Learn more. |

Beat The Heat Drive
Summer is upon us, and the temperatures are rising. As the heat intensifies, our unhoused neighbors are especially vulnerable. Open Door and Fig Leaf Ministries are launching a "Beat the Heat Drive" to collect simple items that can bring comfort during these sweltering days. This season, we’re focusing on two key items: cotton bandanas and wet wipes.
Here’s how you can help (now through the end of July): Shop our Amazon Registry. Purchase items and have them sent directly to us. Bring a Donation. Pick up some bandanas and/or wet wipes during your next shopping trip and drop them off in the Open Door and Fig Leaf bins at church.
Together, we can offer a bit of relief and care to our neighbors in need this summer. Thank you for your generosity and compassion! |
