| Vital Conversations on ImmigrationNovember 30 | 9:45 am | Fellowship Hall
Please join this four-week Advent study series, Vital Conversations on Immigration. This study, provided by the General Commission on Religion and Race of The United Methodist Church, guides us in learning more about immigration, which is not merely a political issue—a theological and spiritual matter deeply rooted in our Christian faith. We will explore topics such as "Immigration and the Bible: what does our faith require?" "Why do people migrate?" "Race, culture, and immigration: who belongs?" "From charity to justice: the church's role in immigration" and "Connecting faith, race, and immigration justice."
Meetings for weeks 2 - 4 (December 7, 14, & 21) will be held from 4 - 5 pm on Zoom. For the Zoom link and more information, please email Pastor Earl at pastorearl@uumc.org. |

Dinner church is an opportunity to talk about things that are important to us while getting to know folks we might not interact with regularly. This December 1 we will do a special gathering for those who experience grief and loneliness during the holiday season. There have been many losses in our congregation this year and many in our own families. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in joining we hope to see you there. |

| Service of Worship Sunday @ 11 amScripture: Matthew 19:13-15
We are excited to welcome Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey as our guest preacher this Sunday. Her sermon title is “A Matthew 25 Church!” and the scripture reading comes from Matthew 25:34-40. In this passage Jesus reminds the disciples, “I was hungry and you gave me food” and we look forward to the inspiring and challenging word Bishop Harvey brings to us. The Sanctuary choir will sing “Ubi Caritas” Maurice Duruflé (Where charity and love are, God is there.” and Paul Harper will share a song entitled “Until All Are Fed.” We will also welcome new members Rev. Jae-Hee Lee and Young-Kwan Byeon.
This Sunday we are collecting a special offering for the Central Texas Food Bank in response to the current crisis. You can write “Food Crisis” on the memo section of your check or offering envelope. You can also donate online but selecting “Pastor’s Discretionary Fund.” All funds collected in Pastor’s Discretionary throughout this month will be sent to the Central Texas Food Bank. As it reads on their website, “As work stoppage and benefit delays leave more families without support, neighbors across Central Texas are reminding each other that it’s okay to ask for help - and showing that compassion matters.” |

“When people were hungry, Jesus didn’t say, ‘How is that political or social?’ He said, “I feed you.’ Because the good news to a hungry person is bread.” – Desmond Tutu
Lord, let me hunger enough that I do not forget the world’s hunger. Lord, let me hunger enough that I may have bread to share. Lord, let me hunger enough that I may long for the Bread of Heaven. Lord, let me hunger enough that I may be filled. But, O Lord, let me not hunger so much that I seek after that which is not bread, nor try to live by bread alone. Amen. |

Goal is in reach! We have received 125 pledge cards totaling $694,133 toward our $850,000 “Dare to Dream” stewardship goal. That goal is very much achievable — if everyone who pledged in 2025 renews or increases their commitments for 2026.
We don’t like to assume that giving will continue past the current pledge year. If you haven’t submitted your pledge for 2026, please turn in a card soon or communicate your plans with finance director Cindy Reeves at finance@uumc.org or 512-478-9387 x224 so we can count on your contribution.
This will help us to get to work on preparing the church's budget for next year and ensuring that our beloved missions carry on uninterrupted.
Thank you for all the ways you display generosity to UUMC, and thank you for making a financial commitment for the coming year. |

Poinsettia Orders
Each year, we order beautiful poinsettias from Down Home Ranch to decorate our sanctuary for the Advent Season. You may dedicate a poinsettia in memory of, or in honor or, a loved one. Each plant is $12 and you may order at uumc.org/poinsettias.
If you’d prefer to pay via cash or check, there are forms available for you in the Front Office. Poinsettias will be in the sanctuary through the Advent season and Christmas Eve. You may pick up your poinsettias after the service on December 25th. We will publish a list of memorials and honorees in the Lessons & Carols worship bulletin for all orders placed before November 30. |
