UUMC is located at 2409 Guadalupe Street, on the corner of 24th Street, on the edge of the UT campus. The cornerstone for the current sanctuary was laid in 1907, and the first services were held there in the spring of 1909.
The church from its beginning has seen the students and faculty at the university as a primary mission field and has a very active program for college students under the direction of the Rev. Bill Frisbie. However, the church facilities are centrally located in the city and are convenient to neighborhoods in north, east, south and west Austin, including the university and Hyde Park areas and the growing central city with its condominiums and apartments.
I-35, a main north-south traffic artery, is located a few blocks to the east, and Loop 1 (MoPac Expy) runs to the west. The main access from I-35 would be Dean Keeton Street or Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. From MoPac, 24th Street is the most direct route.
