Continuing Adult Education

University UMC has a rich history of doing the important and often difficult work of self improvement. Whether it is inviting guest speakers to share ideas, or committing to weekly meetings in the pursuit of self betterment, UUMC offers several ways to commit to active learning.

Short-Term
Sessions

These sessions meet for 2-4 weeks and focus on the meanings and practices of Christian faith in the current world. They’ll offer opportunities to explore diverse topics such as spiritual formation, liturgical seasons, socio-religious issues, heritage months and more.

Long-Term Sessions

These sessions allow us to take a deeper dive into spiritual practices. From Fall 2022 - Spring 2023 we will be exploring spiritual autobiographies seeing how others’ moments of doubt and assurance, agony and epiphany, become reservoirs of meaning and revelation. We‘ll then write and share our own spiritual autobiographies as a fruitful opportunity for us to recall and reflect on our own journeys.

Guest Speakers

Listening to other’s perspectives and hearing about their lived experience offers a uniquely personal way to enrich our own lives and empower us to be more faithful and mindful followers of Jesus. We often bring in guest speakers to Sunday School classes or to lead Lunch and Learn sessions after worship.

Sunday School Classes

Sunday School isn’t just for kids! We offer 5 different Sunday School classes, so you’re sure to find a group you fit-in with! Learn more about our classes here!

Rev. Earl Kim

Associate Pastor

Pastor Earl helps coordinate a diverse array of speakers and classes to explore spiritual and social issues.
