| Tuesday Night Lights: Faith & Art A Conversation on Beauty and the SacredTuesdays | 7 pm | Fellowship Hall
Each Tuesday evening, we’ll welcome a different artist or art expert from within our congregation to explore the meaningful intersection between art and spiritual life as they share their stories and lead a conversation.
For last week’s Faith & Art, we shared a video interview with Sonja Kever where she talked about her art project, Street Stories, part of which hangs in our Fellowship Hall. You can watch that video here. |

| Service of Worship Sunday @ 11 amScripture: John 15:12-17
This Sunday is Commitment to Giving Sunday! In worship, we will be invited to return our pledge cards and pray for the people and ministries of UUMC. Thank you to all those who have already returned their pledge cards! Pastor Teresa’s sermon is entitled “Living the Dream” and she will be sharing highlights from the last year made possible because of UUMC’s generosity. The sermon text is John 15:12-17. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Ripple Effect” by Sarah Quartel which includes these words by Mother Teresa: "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But if that drop was not in the ocean, I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop." Worship will be followed by our annual Fall Festival complete with food and fun for all ages. Children (of all ages!) are invited to wear their halloween costumes if they’d like. |

A Message ahead of Commitment to Giving Sunday |
|
|
This Sunday, we will consecrate our 2026 financial commitments to UUMC – and then celebrate with a Fall Festival.
On behalf of our Finance Committee, I invite you to prayerfully consider your 2026 pledge and return a financial commitment card during Sunday’s service.
UUMC members have shared their dreams for our church this month — dreams of a growing multigenerational community that serves its neighbors and battles injustice. Those dreams become reality with our work and our financial commitment.
Our Finance Committee has set a “Dare to Dream” goal of $850,000 in commitments for 2026, which would be an increase of about 8% from our current-year pledged giving of $787,995. Reaching this goal will allow us to continue to grow our ministries for children and youth, more fully fund our Open Door mission to unhoused neighbors and ensure living wages for our wonderful staff.
Commitments made via pledge cards Sunday are critically important to our ability to prepare a budget and plan our spending for next year. Put simply, we will not plan to spend money that we don’t have, so a shortfall in financial commitments will result in cuts to beloved programs or missions—the opposite of daring to dream big.
We hope to see you Sunday as we celebrate our commitments and our dreams. You may turn in a pledge card then, and, if you can’t be at worship, you can communicate your plans to finance director Cindy Reeves at finance@uumc.org.
