| Tuesday Night Lights: Faith & Art A Conversation on Beauty and the Sacredbegins Sept. 16 | 7 pm | Education BuildingYou are invited to the Tuesday Night Lights talk series: Faith and Art: A Conversation on Beauty and the Sacred. Each Tuesday evening, we’ll welcome a different artist or art expert from within our congregation to explore the meaningful intersection between art and spiritual life as they share their stories and lead a conversation. Come for some evenings or join us for them all, and step into a space where stories, questions, and shared reflections can awaken our sense of wonder, stir our hearts with beauty, and renew our hope in a broken world. Email PastorEarl@uumc.org with any questions! |

| Service of Worship Sunday @ 11 amScripture: Matthew 25:14-30Join us for worship on this special Children’s Sunday as we continue our sermon series “Created for Community.” Pastor Teresa’s sermon title “This is My Thing!” is inspired by a program by the same name on KUT News where community members share the hobbies and talents that bring them joy. The sermon text is the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25:14-30 and will be shared in a creative way by Melissa Wiginton. In worship, we will also recognize our 2nd grade Bible recipients, celebrate our childcare staff, and enjoy special music from our children’s Wesley Choir. |

Last Sunday, Megan and the College Ministry Students started off the year with a great evening! They gathered for dinner, but the real fun started after they’d eaten. Aria Rey (who you may remember from being part of previous UUMC Pride Parade Floats) came in to host bingo. Which means it wasn’t just ordinary bingo, they had DRAG BINGO! Everyone had a great time and went home with some fun prizes. They also took home a gift from the Flower Ministry. Each year our Flower Ministry buys succulents for each of the college students, providing them with a gift they can enjoy the whole school year. |

Church Gets Top Score on Fire DrillThanks to Sunday School leaders, church staff members, and the congregation, UUMC scored 100% on the first fire drill in the church that anyone can remember. We cleared the buildings just ahead of the 5-minute benchmark established by firefighters, and no one was hurt. The work to ensure that our campus is safe and welcoming continues; in the meantime, please accept the thanks of the Safety and Security Task Force for your participation and your patience. |
